Audi South Africa has introduced a more affordable entry point to its A3 Sportback range, launching a new S line derivative priced from R769 000. The Audi A3 TFSI 110kW S line slots below the existing S line Plus and S line Black models in the local line-up and is available only in the five-door Sportback body style .

The introduction creates a clearer three-tier hierarchy across the A3 Sportback range, with each level adding more equipment and styling features. The entry-level S line comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, sport seats in cloth upholstery, LED headlights, ambient interior lighting and a six-speaker sound system. A panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, auto-dimming interior mirror, folding exterior mirrors and lumbar support are also included .

Above the new base model sits the S line Plus, priced at R808 200 for the Sportback and R823 200 for the sedan. This specification adds the S line interior package with artificial leather and cloth upholstery, sport seats featuring ‘S’ embossing, full LED headlights, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a SONOS premium sound system and dark aluminium interior inlays .

At the top of the range, the S line Black is priced from R834 500 for the Sportback and R849 500 for the sedan. It adds black 18-inch alloy wheels, the black styling plus package, privacy glazing and LED projection lighting .

The revised line-up forms part of Audi South Africa's strategy to optimise its product portfolio in the compact premium segment.

"Optimising a product portfolio is not only about adding new models, but about structuring them in a way that appeals to a wider range of customers," says Markus Schuster, head of Audi South Africa. "The revised S line structure on the A3 Sportback brings greater clarity to the range while maintaining the strong character that defines the Audi A3 model range" .

The A3 range, which launched locally in 2025, remains a core part of Audi's compact premium offering. All models are sold with a 5-year/100 000 km Audi Freeway Plan covering service and maintenance .
