A mere snip at R6,2-million, the limited edition – just five of them – Range Rover SV Platinum Edition has been commissioned exclusively for the ‘Roverphiles’ in the South African market.

This Range Rover takes its inspiration straight from platinum—the tough, silvery-white metal everyone knows for its strength and shine. The Bespoke team at Range Rover turned that idea into reality, inside and out.

Limited Edition Range Rover Platinum for South Africa

Maybe not Platinum but take a closer look at these Range Rover models on offer

First thing you’ll notice is the paint: a custom Platinum Satin finish that looks seriously sleek. Then there’s the Silver Chrome and Graphite Atlas accents, plus flashes of gold on the badging and a gold roof panel for some eye-catching contrast. It rolls on massive 23-inch alloy wheels with diamond-turned faces and satin gold inserts, so you know it’s not shy.

Step inside, and you get a cabin that mixes creamy Perlino leather with warmer Caraway shades. Silver noble chrome details pop throughout, and the dashboard and doors get a rich texture thanks to natural cream Ash Burr veneer.

But here’s where it gets really interesting—the South African touch. There’s custom embroidery on the seats and scatter cushions, inspired by geometric patterns from traditional wooden block printing out of Limpopo. The satin stitching gives it a soft shine, as a little nod to the platinum mined up north. You’ll spot that same pattern on the treadplates too.

Janico Dannhauser, the Range Rover brand manager for JLR South Africa, puts it like this: “This is a celebration of rarity. For five clients, this represents a particular expression of South African luxury.”

Honestly, he’s right—the craftsmanship and local artistry come together in a way you don’t see every day.

Under the hood, it packs a 452 kW V8 engine. This thing’s got electronic air suspension, Dynamic Response Pro, and adaptive off-road cruise control. You can tweak the driving modes for whatever terrain you’re tackling.

And the features? Oh, they went all out. There’s the Rear Body-And-Soul-Seat system with Sensory Floor tech, which actually sends haptic feedback through the floor mats to go with the seat’s built-in transducers. You also get the ClearSight interior rear-view mirror, four-zone climate control, soft door close, and a powered gesture tailgate.

In short, it’s rare, bold and packed with details that make it stand out—just like platinum itself.
