Get your engines ready, South Africa! The highly anticipated Festival of Motoring is rolling back into the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from August 29 to 31, and two of the country's automotive giants are gearing up for a spectacular showcase.
Volkswagen is revving its engines for a major return, promising a display with something for every kind of driver. The centrepiece of their stand will be the hotly anticipated new Golf 8 GTI, a model that promises to fuse performance with the latest tech. It will be joined by the bold Polo GTI Black Style, the all-new Tayron SUV, a limited-run Polo Vivo 15 Edition, and the practical new Transporter. For those with a taste for adventure, the powerful 222kW Amarok will also be on display.

But it won't just be a static show. Visitors can step into the action and even secure a spot for a high-speed ride around the circuit with Volkswagen Motorsport drivers in a SupaCup racing Polo.
Niels Wichmann, Head of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand, said the stand is a reflection of the brand's local appeal. "From stylish hatchbacks to adventure-ready SUVs, our show presence showcases the blend of innovative technology and quality that South African customers have come to expect," he commented. The family-friendly stand will also feature simulator competitions, art sessions for kids, and a merchandise shop.
Meanwhile, over at the 4x4 Village, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be demonstrating the rugged capabilities of its line-up. Adventure enthusiasts can witness the V6 Amarok tackle a specially designed obstacle course on the skidpan, putting its off-road engineering to the test.
Not to be outdone, Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa (TGRSA) has confirmed its place on the grid at the festival. Following its local debut earlier in the year, Toyota will be showcasing the 2025 GR Yaris, now available with an advanced automatic transmission. They will also have the GR Yaris Race Car from the GR Cup series on display.
The Toyota experience extends onto the track, where festivalgoers can grab a passenger seat in a GR Yaris Race Car. Expert instructors from the TGRSA Driving Academy will be at the wheel, with special appearances from SATC series drivers like Nathi Msimanga, Michael van Rooyen and Saood Variawa, promising a memorable lap of the famous Kyalami circuit.
