Gauteng residents with a taste for the outdoors can mark their calendars for the return of the Outdoor & Adventure Expo. The event is set to take place from 15 to 17 August at B’Sorah Farm, situated in the Broederstroom valley within the Magaliesberg Mountains near Hartbeespoort Dam.
Following its launch last year, the expo has established itself as a family-oriented gathering focused on authentic outdoor living, easily accessible from major Gauteng centres. A diverse range of exhibitors will showcase outdoor equipment, including 4x4 vehicles and accessories, recent caravan and trailer models, camping gear, outdoor clothing, specialised electronics, braais, hiking and cycling equipment, and e-bikes.

A notable feature this year is the live screening of the Springboks versus Australia rugby test match in the beer tent on Saturday afternoon, hosted by André Verster of LR Classic. This follows the day's expo activities. Numerous food vendors and children’s activities will be located nearby.
The expo's layout leverages its natural setting, dividing exhibitors into three distinct zones. Caravans and trailers are grouped together for easy comparison. Nearby, the 4x4 section includes a demonstration track where exhibitors can display vehicle capabilities, aftermarket suspensions, and tyres, sometimes even towing off-road caravans through the course. General outdoor exhibitors are located near the main day-visitor entrance.

Visitors can actively participate by joining beginner or longer hikes, bringing their own mountain bikes for challenging trails, or testing bikes provided by exhibitors. Options also include guided self-drive routes suitable for 4x4s or SUVs or tackling a marshalled 4x4 obstacle course managed by the Off-Road Marshalling Unit of SA, offering spectator appeal.
Designed as a family-friendly experience welcoming dogs on leashes, the expo offers various food and drink options, including quick-serve carts, coffee, craft beer, and gin. Seating under trees and the beer tent with its big screen will be available. The tent will also screen the UFC bout featuring Dricus du Plessis on Sunday morning.
Amateur photographers are encouraged to capture the surrounding scenery.
