Honda Motor Southern Africa has unveiled the updated Honda HR-V compact SUV, presenting a simplified model line-up focused on enhanced value. The refreshed range now centres on a single, well-equipped Elegance derivative, effectively merging the specifications of the previous Comfort and Executive models at a more accessible cost point.
Visually, the updated HR-V adopts a bolder front appearance, marked by a redesigned grille finished in body colour. The rear gains a new full-LED taillight strip and a high-gloss lower bumper garnish, contributing to a more dynamic profile. Completing the exterior refresh are new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Customers can choose from five colours: Crystal Black Pearlescent, Opal White Pearlescent, Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic, Meteoroid Grey Metallic, and Ignite Red Metallic.

Inside the Elegance model, comfort is prioritised with eco-friendly leather seats designed for longer journeys. Practicality sees an improvement via a redesigned centre console now featuring two USB ports (Type A and Type C). A 15W wireless smartphone charger is now included as standard equipment. The familiar 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system remains but gains wireless integration for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This consolidated Elegance specification brings together desirable features previously spread across different variants. Standard equipment now includes Auto High Beam LED headlights, the 15W wireless charger, the 18-inch dual-tone wheels, the eco-friendly leather upholstery, a 6-speaker sound system, Honda Magic Seats, smart keyless entry, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Crucially, Honda's advanced safety suite, Honda SENSING, is also standard. This system incorporates Lane-Keeping Assist, Emergency Collision Mitigation Braking, and Road Departure Mitigation, alongside six SRS airbags, aiming to increase driver confidence.

The Honda HR-V Elegance comes backed by a comprehensive ownership package. This includes a 5-year / 200 000 km warranty, a 4-year / 60 000 km service plan, and 3 years of AA roadside assistance, all factored into the purchase price.
