Isuzu Motors South Africa has adjusted the standard Service Plan across its refreshed Model Year 2026 D-MAX and MU-X line-ups, increasing the coverage period from five years to six years while keeping the odometer limit unchanged at 90 000 kilometres.

The change took effect from  May 1, 2026 and applies to all new MY26 vehicles sold from that date, with the extended service plan also set to carry over to subsequent model years of both the bakkie and SUV ranges. Existing owners are not affected by the adjustment, which is offered at no additional cost to buyers.

Chris Jonk, After Sales Executive at Isuzu Motors South Africa, said the move reflects the manufacturer’s understanding of what owners value beyond the vehicle itself. He noted that customers are looking for assurance, ease of ownership and sustained backing over the life of their purchase, and that the extended service plan underscores the company’s faith in the engineering and longevity its models are known for.

The additional year of coverage is expected to be particularly beneficial for owners who drive below-average annual distances, as it allows them to extract greater value from the service plan across a longer ownership timeline while gaining more predictability over maintenance expenses.

The enhancement applies equally to retail and fleet buyers and is part of a broader strategy by Isuzu to strengthen aftersales support and reduce uncertainty around running costs. In a domestic market where bakkies and SUVs remain fiercely contested segments, the revised service offering aligns the brand with shifting buyer priorities around long-term value and after-sale care.

With the adjustment, Isuzu reinforces its focus on customer-centric ownership, backing its promise of robust performance and dependable service throughout the ownership cycle.
