JMC South Africa is set to introduce its flagship Grand Avenue bakkie to the local market later this year, as the brand accelerates its national rollout and formalises a major funding partnership to make vehicle ownership more accessible.

The company, imported and distributed by Salvador Caetano South Africa, has signed a joint venture with WesBank to launch JMC Financial Services. The collaboration aims to integrate financing directly into the dealership experience, offering customers a streamlined path to ownership while providing dealers with stock financing support.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, WesBank CEO Robert Gwerengwe said the partnership is designed to simplify the buying process. “By integrating our financial solutions directly into the JMC dealer network, we are simplifying the process for the customer while also providing essential floorplan support to help dealers grow their businesses.”

The move comes as JMC pushes forward with an aggressive dealer expansion strategy. The company plans to have 40 dealerships operational across South Africa by the end of 2026, with a focus on major metros including Gauteng, Cape Town and Durban.

Leslie Ramsoomar, Managing Director of Salvador Caetano South Africa, described the WesBank deal as a key milestone. “Collaborating with WesBank allows us to strengthen the JMC value proposition by integrating trusted financial services with a product range designed for the realities of the South African market.”

The brand’s local line-up currently includes the Vigus bakkie range and Carrying Plus commercial trucks. The introduction of the Grand Avenue later this year is expected to bolster its presence in the commercial and lifestyle vehicle segments.

Gwerengwe added that the partnership reflects a broader shift in the automotive landscape. “We have seen firsthand how the right partnerships can unlock real opportunity. Collaborations like this expand choice and simplify the cost of ownership.”
