The Omoda C5 will gain a hybrid variant in March with the arrival of the new C5 SHS model that combines a turbo-charged 1,5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, producing a total of 165 kW and 310 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,9 seconds. The hybrid system uses a 1,83 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery to support its electric propulsion.
Claimed fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 5,3 l/100 km, with CO? emissions rated at 120 g/km. According to Omoda, a full tank of fuel should allow for a driving range exceeding 1 000 km. The vehicle uses a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) to channel power to the front wheels.

The vehicle’s Super Hybrid System is designed to prioritise electric motor operation, with the petrol engine activating when needed. This, along with acoustic glass, aims to reduce cabin noise.
The model will come fitted with a 12,3-inch dual-screen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also include 20 driver assistance features, such as blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert. Interior appointments will include black leather trim, an eight-speaker sound system, a power-operated tailgate and a sunroof.
