Suzuki Auto South Africa has shifted gears, unleashing the fourth-generation Dzire onto local roads – a stylish, budget-friendly compact sedan it hopes will shake up the AB-segment. Blending sleek design, punchy performance and top-notch safety, this value-packed newcomer promises to delight cost-conscious drivers without compromising on flair or functionality.
The Dzire’s design starts with a bold front grille, flaunting a glossy piano black finish (chrome-accented on GL+ models) and narrow halogen projector headlights. Its profile features electric folding mirrors, a shark-fin antenna and LED tail lights linked by a chrome strip on the GL+. Rolling on 14-inch steel wheels (GA trim) or 15-inch black alloys (GL+), the Dzire offers seven paint options, from fiery Gallant Red Pearl to chic Arctic White Pearl.

Inside is a driver-focused dashboard with horizontal air vents, a modern instrument cluster and a dual-tone beige-and-black theme. Both GA and GL+ models come loaded with essentials: digital air-conditioning, USB ports (including rear Type-A/Type-C), rear parking sensors and hill-hold control. The GL+ ups the luxury with a 7-inch touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), cruise control, reverse camera and a multifunction steering wheel.
With 378 litres of boot space and rear AC vents, it’s built for both school runs and weekend escapes.

Under the hood, Suzuki’s 1,2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine delivers 60 kW and 112 Nm, paired with either a five-speed manual (with stop/start tech) or CVT and has a claimed consumption of 4,4l l/100 km.
Riding on Suzuki’s advanced HEARTECT platform, the Dzire offers agile handling thanks to recalibrated suspension and a rigid chassis. Safety shines with six crash bags, anti-lock braking with EBD, electronic stability control and ISOFIX anchors – earning it a five-star Global NCAP safety rating (four stars for child protection).
