Toyota South Africa Motors has announced a series of specification upgrades for its Urban Cruiser B-SUV. The changes, applied across both the XS and XR model lines, are designed to refresh the vehicle's offering and improve its overall value proposition.
The updates, which are now standard, focus on increasing comfort, functionality, and day-to-day usability for owners.
Several key features have been added to both the XS and XR grades. These include a new rear wiper to improve rearward visibility and a larger 9-inch infotainment system, replacing the previous 7-inch unit. The steering wheel has also been upgraded from a urethane to a leather-wrapped finish. For rear passengers, dual Type-C USB ports have been added for convenient device charging.

XS Model Enhancements
The XS model receives specific upgrades that elevate its standard specification. It now comes fitted with alloy wheels as standard, moving from the previous steel wheels. A practical luggage shelf with strings has also been added to the boot area for increased utility.

XR Model Additions
The range-topping XR grade benefits from advanced lighting upgrades. The halogen headlamps have been replaced with LED units. This model also now features Automatic Light Control (ALC) and a Follow Me Home function, which keeps the headlamps illuminated for a short period after the engine is switched off.
The Urban Cruiser is powered by a 1,5-litre engine, available with either a manual or an automatic transmission. The vehicle continues to be sold with a 4-year/60 000 km service plan and a 3-year/100 000 km warranty.
