The new Range Rover SV Ultra has landed in South Africa, priced from R5 729 100 for the P615 V8 powertrain model. This latest addition to the local luxury SUV market brings a fresh focus on cabin experience, combining high-end materials with a first-of-its-kind audio setup designed to bridge comfort, wellbeing, and sound.
On the outside, buyers can choose from several colour options, including a new shade called Titan Silver. This finish uses fine aluminium flake and advanced pigment technology to create a reflective surface with an almost mirror-like quality. It is reserved exclusively for the SV Ultra. The exterior is further dressed with Satin Platinum Atlas accents, silver chrome detailing, and 23-inch alloy wheels featuring Satin Platinum inserts and updated centre caps.

Inside, the cabin introduces a light two-tone Orchid White and Cinder Grey Ultrafabrics trim, moving away from traditional leather. The seats carry a laser-crafted mosaic pattern, while a new rattan palm veneer – finished in a brighter Orchid White tint – runs from the single touchscreen through to the rear club table and the powered door of the integrated cooler. A gloss white ceramic finish, colour-matched Orchid Pearl SV speakers, Orchid White seatbelts, and branded treadplates continue the light interior theme. An elongated scatter cushion made from Kvadrat remix textile, a wool and recycled polyester blend, completes the seating area.
Phoebe Lindsay, Range Rover Materiality Manager, said the SV Ultra represents a modernist take on materials, with clean lines, a neutral palette, and a restrained use of natural surfaces. She noted Ultrafabrics was chosen over leather for its engineered softness, which allows for detailed perforation and laser-cut patterns, while the palm veneer adds visual brightness and a sense of calm.

The main talking point, however, is the optional SV Electrostatic Sound system, available only on SV models. It uses 21 lightweight thin-film transducers built into redesigned winged headrests, seatbacks, headlining, and existing speaker locations. Each electrostatic speaker contains a 1mm-thick membrane that responds up to 1,000 times faster than a traditional speaker, aiming to deliver clear, detailed audio with minimal vibration or distortion. The system is supported by five bass loudspeakers and works with the existing Body and Soul Seats (BASS) and Sensory Floor technologies.
According to the manufacturer, the electrostatic speakers use up to 90% less power and 90% less mass compared to conventional coil speakers, contain no rare earth elements, and are made from 100% upcycled and recyclable materials by mass. The system underwent more than 1 000 hours of testing in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 65°C.
Body and Soul Seat technology uses AI-optimised software to analyse media in real time and generate in-seat pulsations for both front and second-row passengers. Sensory Floor adds haptic feedback through four transducers beneath the floor mats in each passenger footwell, extending the experience beyond the seats. Buyers can also choose from six wellness programmes – from ‘Calm’ to ‘Invigorating’ – which the company says may offer measurable benefits for heart-rate variability, helping to reduce anxiety or support cognitive response.
Martin Limpert, Global Managing Director for Range Rover, said the SV Ultra is one of the finest expressions of Range Rover luxury to date, defined by exclusive finishes and world-first in-car audio technologies that set a new benchmark for immersion and wellbeing. He added that the listening experience marks a clear departure from anything previously fitted to a vehicle.
