iCAUR, the new-energy subbrand under the Chery Global umbrella, has taken the wraps off its 03T electric SUV after months of speculation. Positioned above the V23 in the local lineup, the 03T arrives in two trim levels, giving buyers a choice between two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The 2WD version uses a single rear-mounted electric motor fed by a 65,69 kWh battery. It produces 135 kW and 220 Nm of torque, reaching 100 km/h in 10,5 seconds with a top speed of 150 km/h. The AWD derivative steps up to a dual-motor setup drawing from a larger 69,77 kWh battery, delivering 205 kW and 385 Nm. That shaves the 0-100 km/h sprint down to 6,5 seconds, though the top speed remains 150 km/h.

Charging times stand out. Hooked to a DC fast charger, both variants move from 10% to 80% charge in 30 minutes. Range is closely matched: the 2WD offers an NEDC-estimated 431 km, while the AWD manages 436 km. Energy consumption checks in at 18,3 kWh/100 km for the 2WD and 19,9 kWh/100 km for the AWD.
Riding on 19-inch alloy wheels with 245/55 tyres, the 03T uses MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear setup. Ventilated disc brakes sit at the front, with solid discs at the rear.
The exterior leans into rugged, boxy styling with strong geometric lines, pronounced wheel arches, and slim lighting elements. An all-aluminium multi-cavity cage body helps resist corrosion for up to 30 years, cuts weight by more than 30%, and lowers energy consumption by 3%. Paint options include Khaki White, Carbon Crystal Black, Cyan Grey, Starlight Silver, and Toronto Red.
Inside, a 2 715 mm wheelbase translates into generous legroom for five passengers. Boot space measures 450 litres, expanding to 1 238 litres with the 60:40 split rear seats folded down. A rear storage box adds another 40 litres.

The 2WD model comes with climate control, black leather upholstery, ambient lighting for front-row occupants and electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation. The driver’s seat also gets four-way power lumbar adjustment. The AWD adds a massage function for front occupants and an electrically adjustable leg rest for the front passenger.
A 15,6-inch touchscreen handles infotainment duties, including Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The 2WD uses an eight-speaker iCAUR audio system, while the AWD upgrades to a 12-speaker Infinity setup. Voice command, three USB ports, one USB-C port and a 50 W wireless charger are standard across the range.
Safety features include six crash bags, ESP, traction control, emergency brake assist, ISOFIX points, front and rear parking sensors and a 540-degree camera system. ADAS includes automatic emergency braking with vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle recognition, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, lane departure warning and prevention, lane-keep assist, blind spot detection, front and reverse collision warning, door opening warning and a drive away reminder.
The 2WD offers four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom. The AWD expands that to nine: Eco, Normal, Sport, Custom, Slippery, Beach, Muddy, Bumpy, and All-Road Mode.

The iCAUR 03T reaches South African showrooms from 28 May 2026. It comes with an 8-year or 200 000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160 000 km power battery warranty for the first owner, a 5-year or 100 000 km service plan and 8-year or 200 000 km roadside assistance.
