Toyota South Africa has reintroduced the VX-L trim for its latest Land Cruiser Prado lineup, giving fans of comfort and style a fresh reason to look at this SUV. With the VX-L back in the mix (last seen on the previous generation), buyers now have three options: TX, VX-R, and VX-L. Each one is built for a different type of driver, so the Prado’s appeal just got a whole lot broader.

The VX-R still targets the classic Land Cruiser crowd—the folks who want rugged looks, real off-road chops and that unmistakable sense of adventure. The new VX-L? That’s for drivers who spend more time on city streets but still want the Prado’s famous capability waiting in the wings. It has got a sharper, more polished look and it does not skimp on comfort.
Toyota says it is welcoming customers who live mostly in urban areas, but still want the Prado’s presence and underlying strength.
The VX-R and VX-L are not just different on paper—you will notice it right away. The VX-R wears 18-inch alloys, black exterior accents and practical side steps, serving up that tough, ready-for-anything vibe. The VX-L counters with 20-inch wheels, body-coloured trim and illuminated steps for a sleeker, more urban feel.
