To mark three decades since the launch of the original BMW M3 (E30) in 1986, BMW produced the M3 30 Jahre Edition — a celebratory, limited-run version of the F80-generation M3.
Worldwide production was capped at 500 units, making this one of the more exclusive M3s. Based on the M3 with the Competition Package, the M3 30 Jahre shares the twin-turbo 3.0-litre inline-six (BMW S55) developed for the F80 M3/X. Output is rated at around 450 PS (331 kW) and 550 Nm of torque.
From the outside, the 30 Jahre Edition is distinguished by:
- A single special paint finish: Macao Blue Metallic (a throw-back to the early E30 M3 option)
- Exclusive 20-inch forged “666 M” style star-spoke wheels with mixed tyres.
- BMW Individual styling touches: high-gloss Shadow Line exterior trim, carbon-fibre front splitter, mirror caps, rear diffuser and spoiler.
- 30 Jahre M3’ badging: etched door sill plates, “30 Jahre M3 1/500” on the carbon-fibre dashboard trim, and embroidery on the headrests.
Inside, the edition ups the luxury and exclusivity:
- Two-tone Black & Fjord Blue Merino leather upholstery paired with Alcantara and carbon-fibre trim.
- Sport seats with integrated lateral support, M sports steering wheel in Alcantara, seat belts with woven M-stripes.
- Additional premium features: Harman Kardon sound system, BMW individual head-liner in anthracite, adaptive LED headlights, parking assistant plus surround-view camera.
