The Focus RS feels like something that shouldn’t even be legal — this much raw power and razor-sharp handling on public roads is just insane. But Ford made it happen. This isn’t your average hot hatch, it’s a full-on performance weapon that punches way above its weight class.
The first time I got in, the Recaro bucket seats felt a little strange after being used to comfy SUV chairs. But once you drive it, you get it instantly. You want to be strapped in tight, because this thing devours corners in a way no SUV ever could. And the sound… in normal mode it’s tame, but flick it into Sport and it comes alive — roaring like a lion that hasn’t eaten in a week.
On top of all that madness, this car is in pristine condition. Easily the cleanest Focus RS on the market right now. The previous owner even extended the service plan, which shows the level of care that went into keeping her as close to new as possible. There’s honestly not a single thing I can fault.
Fun fact: the 2.3L inline-4 EcoBoost engine under the hood is the same one Ford used in the Mustang Ecoboost models. That should tell you everything you need to know about the kind of power this hatch is hiding.
