Additional Information
Volkswagen Golf Mk1 No 003
Introducing Number 003 of the final Volkswagen MK1 Golf series ever built in South Africa – an absolute collector’s dream. With just 29km on the clock from new, this Citi Golf is effectively delivery mileage fresh, making it one of the most original examples in existence.
Powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder fuel-injected engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, this car still carries the factory-fresh scent and showroom condition. The interior features signature GT stripes, black and grey cloth with red stitching, and factory Mk1 GTI-style pedals.
Finished in Midnight Blue with silver decals and 15-inch MK1 alloy wheels, the car proudly displays its build number – 003/1000 – on the fender and tailgate. The engine bay and undercarriage are spotless, showing no signs of use or weather exposure.
Number 001 resides in the VW museum in Germany and Number 002 resides in the VW museum in Uitenhage - lets all see where number 003 is going to reside?
This is not just a car, it’s a time capsule – the end of an era preserved in perfect form.
