The Hino 200 is Toyota’s 3-ton city and urban edge delivery truck, powered by the renowned 5L diesel engine.

Durability is the principle with this Hino 200 engine, instead of outright hauling performance. The 2.9-litre 4-cylinder diesel makes only 66kW and 192Nm. And those numbers do suffer altitude-induced power loss on the Highveld.

But the Hino 200’s engine is also Euro 2 fuel-rated. That means it can cope with the worst diesel quality, which is a reality for South African fleet managers and small truck operators.

The steel cabin offers good visibility and chunky controls, making it suitable for rough operators. So you don’t have to worry about glitching touchscreens or air conditioning controls being mishandled and failing.
