Six crash bags will be offered on the new Executive derivative of Hyundai Grand i10 set to be introduced locally as both a manual and automatic option – the addition of side and curtain bags coming following a controversial zero rating in the Automobile Association crash test.

The new Hyundai GRAND i10 Executive will also feature Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) as standard,  and forms part of Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s broader strategy to continuously enhance its product offering in line with evolving technologies and customer expectations.

“We take a proactive and continuous approach to improving our vehicles,” says Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.  “The introduction of the Executive derivative reflects our commitment to enhancing safety and overall product value in a highly competitive segment.”

The existing Hyundai GRAND i10 Premium derivatives will remain on sale, ensuring a diversified offering across price points within the segment and readers are reminded these were given a 2-star Euro NCAP rating when originally launched. The AA test came after Euro NCAP had made its requirements a lot more stringent, a move that caught out not only Hyundai but several other manufacturers.

“Our latest update underscores our intent to maintain competitiveness in the entry-level market while reinforcing brand value through incremental innovation and feature-led differentiation,” added Anderson.
