The 2025 Toyota Fortuner GR-Sport (GR-S) is the new flagship model, offering aggressive Gazoo Racing-inspired styling, an upgraded engine, and a retuned suspension for enhanced performance. It is built on the existing second-generation Fortuner platform, which is nearing the end of its lifecycle, but the GR-S adds a sporty final chapter.
Upgraded engine: The 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder GD-6 turbodiesel engine gets a power boost, now producing 165 kW and 550 Nm of torque. This is an increase of 15 kW and 50 Nm over the standard 2.8L model.
Improved handling: GR-tuned monotube shock absorbers and a retuned suspension offer a more refined and stable ride, especially on gravel and wet roads.
All-terrain capability: The 4x4 system, paired with standard all-terrain tires and a robust ladder-frame chassis, maintains the Fortuner's reliable off-road prowess.
Sport driving mode: In Sport mode, the GR-S features a sharpened throttle response and weighted steering for a more engaging drive.
