There is no better engine to have in an SUV—I’ve said it many times before and will keep on saying it.
A clean, well-maintained late model 4.2 like this one is like finding a needle in a haystack these days. They are nearly impossible to find in this condition. If this had the Porsche badge on the front instead of the VW badge, we would be selling her for R.
The engine in this Touareg is the same one found in the Porsche Cayenne S—except this comes at a far more accessible price tag. In my opinion, the VW is the better choice.
There’s a reason you won’t find many of these exquisite SUVs for sale—current owners simply don’t want to part with them. And I can’t blame them; they’re that good.
